Sited on a sloping lot facing the main retail street in Little Italy, a unique historical district adjacent to the harbor and downtown San Diego, the development has street frontage on three sides. Because the surrounding area is made up of smaller structures developed over many years, the continuation of the retail street was very important to the context of the neighborhood. The building façade was designed as several smaller structures of differing scales, each with a different architectural vocabulary and color palette.
