Fortuitously located within walking distance to the University of Kentucky, the former industrial site is being re-imagined as an entertainment-anchored, lifestyle center with a multiplex cinema, a bowling center, an adaptive re-use of an original tobacco warehouse to restaurant use, and mixed-use retail and residential buildings. Sponsored by the City of Lexington and working with the State of Kentucky, the project will benefit from TIF (tax increment financing) to launch the development. The project will create a pedestrian path from the campus to the entertainment district and on to newly built units of student housing on the other side of the site.
