WMA’s Day Out:
Hunting at the Huntington
At Withee Malcolm we are always hunting for fun ways to reward our employees for a job well done. Case in point, for our third annual timesheet reward party we headed out for a scavenger hunt and whirlwind tour of the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens near Pasadena. Teams of six, in a friendly (and as we found out serious) competition against each other, took to the grounds to beat the clock, unravel the tricky and humorous questions, and be the first team to finish the quest! Along the way, we saw cool things, (like the Blue Boy) learned intriguing and bizarre facts, had a few good laughs. Many of us were wondering why we had not visited this fascinating place until now. Back on our bus, we traveled to the Stand, a great spot in Pasadena for a celebration lunch, because everyone in this group is a winner!
While we recognize the importance of good work, we also think a lot about the importance of having fun and bringing a positive attitude to the team—keeping that balance between work and play is an essential part of our culture. We regularly organize employee events and contribute to charitable causes, including doing volunteer work in the community. At WMA, it’s not only our Design that makes a Difference, our employees make a difference too!
